Meet Melissa Ramos, a Registered Dental Hygienist based in Colorado and the proud owner of Honey Bee Dental Hygiene and Teeth Whitening. With over a decade of experience, Melissa began her dental career as a dental assistant in 2008, later graduating as a dental hygienist from The City Colleges of Chicago in 2015. Driven by her passion for dentistry, she embarked on the journey to establish an independent dental hygiene practice, dedicated to providing exceptional care. Outside of her professional endeavors, Melissa is an avid traveler and family-oriented individual, deeply committed to serving the Denver community through volunteering in dental settings for those in need. Professional Teeth whitening
All Natural sensitivity and pain free hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel with Led Light. Hydrogen peroxide is a natural bleaching agent that works by breaking down the molecules that cause teeth to become stained. If you are looking for an affordable and safe way to achieve brighter teeth, hydrogen peroxide may be the solution for you! LED lights whiten your teeth through their photochemical impact on the tooth surface. On application, the light energy activates the hydrogen peroxide in teeth whitening serum and speeds up the bleaching process. Irrespective of the cause of yellow teeth, it is an effective treatment for enhancing any smile.
New Patient Dental Consultation & X-rays Special
Full mouth X-rays, full periodontal charting, periodontal diagnostic , evaluation of possible disease, infection and suspicious areas of tooth decay, oral cancer and airway screening, Referral to specialty as needed.
Adult Prophylaxis ( 6 month Cleaning)
A Professional preventative dental cleaning. During an adult’s preventative visit the hygienist typically clears the mouth of biofilm plaque, Calculus( tartar), Stains, by using an ultrasonic scaler, Handscaling, polishing and flossing. Recommended every 6 months.
Child Prophylaxis (2-12 yrs old)
During dental prophylaxis, the hygienist delicately removes calculus, tartar, and/or stain from the teeth of children, and then the teeth are then polished. This procedure is typically recommended once every six months for optimal oral health.
Fluoride Varnish treatments
To stop tooth decay, people use fluoride varnish as a topical fluoride. The fluoride in varnish penetrates the tooth enamel and hardens the tooth. It prevents the progression of deterioration and stops new cavities from forming. It restores the tooth if tooth decay has not yet begun.
Sealants
The chewing surfaces of the rear teeth can be coated with dental sealants, which are thin coatings that can prevent cavities for a very long time. Sealants shield the chewing surfaces from cavities by establishing a barrier between them and food and microorganisms as well to help prevent decay-prone cracks and pits.
Gingivitis Therapy ( cleaning in presence of inflammation & bleeding)
A gingivitis cleaning removes tartar, plaque and stain and deep tartar incrusted deep below the gum line. This takes more time than a regular cleaning. Diseased gums easily bleed when probed because of infection and inflammation. They appear red and puffy
and their pocket measurements are deeper. A topical numbing anesthetic available upon need or request.
Scaling and Root planing ( Deep Periodontal Cleaning) $ fee determined after Consultation
Scaling and root planing (SRP) is a non-surgical procedure treated in the dental office. This deep cleaning goes below your gum line to remove tartar and bacteria from the tooth and
root surfaces. To minimize any discomfort, the dental Hygienist will either administer local anesthetic or a topical numbing agent prior to beginning treatment.
Periodontal maintenance (after scaling & root planing)
Periodontal disease can remain active without proper bacteria control. Therefore, 3 month bacteria maintenance cleanings and excellent home hygiene are crucial to maintaining optimal oral health, preventing disease progression and further bone loss.
During a Periodontal maintenance appointment, the hygienist will measure your gums in order to evaluate the level of healing. The hygienist will remove plaque and tartar (bacteria) deeper below your gumline than during a regular cleaning. This will aid in
better bacteria and inflammation control, allowing for the diseased pockets to shrink and to prevent the disease process from getting worse.
Emergency X-ray, consultation and referral
Consultation , x-ray on area of pain, swelling or concern, referral to general dentistry or specialty
Interim Therapeutic Restoration/ emergency Filling
ITR is a restoration placed on teeth after hand excavation of soft debris/decay from a cavity. ITR has expanded the scope of services dental hygienists can provide in Colorado, increasing their ability to manage disease for more patients. To provide
treatment without local anesthetic using fluoride-releasing glass ionomer on teeth diagnosed with neither necrotic nor irreversible pulpitis. This procedure can be done by Dental Hygienist and provide referral for permanent restoration.
Silver Diamine Fluoride treatment (SDF)
To provide treatment without local anesthetic using fluoride-releasing glass ionomer on teeth diagnosed with neither necrotic nor irreversible pulpitis. This procedure can be done by dental hygienist often avoiding dental treatment under general anesthesia.SDF has been proven to be the most effective in stopping tooth decay,It is non-intimidating and does not involve the use of dental drills or injection. The procedure is fast, painless and easy.SDF relieves sensitivity
